International Council • Headquarters Staff • A Day at Headquarters A Typical Day at Acacia Headquarters
Every semester brings new challenges and new opportunities to the Headquarters staff. A typical day includes important discussions with chapter members, feedback from alumni volunteers, and key policy decisions. The staff uses many different methods to communicate with Acacians from coast to coast. Here's a peak inside a typical day at Acacia HQ:
Keith Bushey, Assistant Executive Director, calls Joshua Gannon at the Oregon State chapter to talk about recruitment progress. Keith directs the chapter to several recruitment resources online, and Josh asks Keith to send more Cornerstones brochures to give to prospective members. Executive Director Darold Larson is working closely with the Membership Development Advisory Council to discuss some issues covered in the last teleconference. Darold will analyze the latest performance metrics to make sure that our chapters are progressing as planned. Patrick McGovern, Director of Membership Development, holds a conference call with alumni and active members from Kansas State, Colorado, California, and Washington State to discuss Cornerstones implementation. Alumni Level Advisors from K-State and Cal are sharing some lessons learned as Colorado and WSU adopt the program. Michael Pastko, Director of Communications, sends out a quick news story from our Twitter account, @AcaciaHQ, to followers around the globe, including: @nicfraternity, @LaTechAcacia, @AcaciaSCSU, and @UCOACACIA. Director of Development Ken Ayers drafts a thank you letter to be sent out to all Acacia Fraternity Foundation donors. This is just one part Ken's revamped strategy to grow the Acacia Annual Fund. Eric Wheeler, Leadership Consultant, adds pictures of every chapter house to Acacia's Facebook Fan page and confirms new member requests to join the LinkedIn alumni group. Ryan Allen, Leadership Consultant, interviews Congressman and Brother Steve Scalise of the LSU chapter for a Crest e-newsletter article. He then updates the notable alumni section on Acacia's Wikipedia page. Leadership Consultant Jonathan Janoski travels to Purdue for a face-to-face meeting with the executive council to discuss chapter goals for the semester. Office Manager Gretchen Mathews mails the Illinois Weseleyan chapter their Shingles and Membership Cards. |
