![]() Who May Attend All Acacia undergraduates, actives as well as pledges, and alumni. Colony members may attend all sessions of the Conclave. Each chapter is encouraged to send as many members as possible in order to share in the Conclave experience. Wives may also join us for numerous Conclave events. Requirements From the Laws of Acacia, Article 14 – International Conclave: "1-401. Delegates. The International Conclave shall consist of the International Officers and two delegates from each chapter and recognized colonies of the Fraternity, one of whom shall be the Chapter Advisor and the other the Venerable Dean; provided that, in case the Chapter Advisor is unable to attend, he shall appoint as a substitute an alumnus of the chapter he represents; and further provided, that, in the event of the inability of the Venerable Dean to attend, the active chapter shall elect an alternate. No chapter that has an average of $500 or more in its account receivable balance and is not on a repayment plan approved by the International Council as of the opening business session of the Conclave shall be permitted to have voting delegates except upon the approval by two-thirds vote of those present and voting at any session of the International Conclave." When and Where The 2010 Conclave will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel located on Canal Street in New Orleans’ famed French Quarter. The French Quarter is New Orleans’ historical center for shopping, entertainment and some of the world’s finest nightlife. The city retains an Old World aura with a reputation for world-famous jazz and cuisine, and a romantic Creole heritage. It is always a popular destination for both undergraduate and alumni members of Acacia! Conclave registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. If you plan to arrive on Tuesday, you may register any time after 12:00 p.m. on that day. The first official event will be the Pre-Conclave session beginning at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. All delegates should be in attendance for this session. Attire for this session will be business casual. Coat and tie are required for all other business sessions. The Conclave will conclude on Saturday evening, August 7th, following the Final Banquet and Awards Ceremony. Checkout and departure are the next morning, August 8th, by 12:00 noon. Attire Coat and tie are required for all the formal opening and closing business sessions, initiation, the Acacia Fraternity Foundation Scholarship luncheon and the Final Banquet and Awards Ceremony. For guest speaker lectures and break-out sessions, collared shirts are requested. T-shirts may be worn for all other entertainment venues. The Pre-Conclave opening session shall be business casual. Room Reservations Rooms for the Conclave are being held through July 13, 2010. To ensure a room, your reservation must be made prior to that time. Late hotel reservation is subject to availability. Room reservations can be made by calling the hotel at (504) 525-2500. When making your reservation by phone, please make sure to note that you are with Acacia Fraternity to receive the special discount rate. The special Conclave room rates (per night) represent an exceptional convention bargain. Sheraton New Orleans Hotel Alumni Registration Alumni may register for Conclave and pay securely online using PayPal. Acacia Fraternity is also hosting a complimentary Alumni Reception on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Undergraduate Registration Registration materials will be sent to each chapter and colony. The return of the Chapter and Advisor Credential forms will properly certify each chapter’s official voting delegates. In addition, chapters are asked to return to Headquarters the list of brothers who plan to attend the Conclave. All attendees must register in the Sheraton at Acacia’s registration desk upon arrival on August 4th. At that time, a registration fee of $125.00 per person will be collected, payable by cash, check or credit card (MC/Visa). Chapters cannot be billed for registration fees. Each delegate must wear his official badge obtained at registration for admission to all Conclave events and programs. Registration includes admission to all sessions of the Conclave and the Acacia Fraternity Foundation Leadership Academy as well as resource materials, scheduled entertainment, the Scholarship Luncheon, the President’s Reception, the Final Banquet and Awards Ceremony, the 2010 Conclave favor and more! | Conclave & ALA Photo Albums |
