John F. Hoffner, Purdue ’66
Executive Vice President and CFO (retired), Jack In The Box, Inc.
- Throughout his thirty-five year career in the retail and restaurant industries, Brother Hoffner has remained an actively involved alumnus. His rise in the leadership ranks of Acacia ran parallel to his rise in the leadership ranks of the companies for which he worked, including Procter & Gamble and Federated Department Stores.
- After serving in various volunteer roles, John was elected Acacia’s First Vice President and National President. Following his presidential term, he served as a Director of the North American Interfraternity Conference and now continues to serve as a Foundation director and campaign co-chair. "In my forty-plus years of involvement, Acacia has never undertaken such a worthy initiative to obtain the resources it needs to strengthen itself at the international level. Finally, we will be able to compete more effectively against larger fraternities for high-quality young men at each of our chapters."
- Brother Hoffner is grateful for his Acacia experience. It taught him about leadership, gave him a great start to his career, and introduced him to his wife of 37 years. He believes the fraternity is at a positive turning point. "The story of how our fraternity has accomplished so much with so little for so long should make every alumnus proud," he observes, "Now, through the New Century Campaign, all Acacians have the opportunity to make Acacia stronger than ever before."
- John and his wife, Jeannie, have contributed $25,000 to create the Hoffner Leadership Series (which funds one of the keynote speakers at each Conclave) and have made a provision in their estate plans to bequeath an additional $35,000.
- Through the leadership and guidance of its three co-chairmen, the New Century Campaign has already surpassed any previous fundraising initiative and is poised to set the tone for the second century of Acacia’s history. We invite you to join them as Acacia Fraternity and the Acacia Fraternity Foundation complete the New Century Campaign.
