The Cornerstones program is not so much a new idea in today’s world as it is a recommitment to our core values utilizing the language and technology of today’s world. Our focus is the same as it always has been, but we are demonstrating this focus in new ways – and therefore must find fresh ways to verbalize the benefits of membership.

Some of our members have spoken of the program as follows:

One thing that us fraternity men have heard many times over the years is “let’s give him a bid (invitation to join) – he’s a good guy.” Well, being a “good guy” is not enough to be a part of Acacia Fraternity. Our chapters are looking for the best individuals to welcome as brothers and we know what we’re looking for – we call it ‘values-based selection criteria’. For each potential new member that we meet, we’re looking for the following values/attitudes:

• A strong academic record
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• An attitude of continuous learning
• A dedication to serving their community
• A willingness to commit oneself to high morals

Of course there are many more personal aspects that a chapter might be looking for, but the above list should provide some indication about the type of men that Acacia Fraternity is seeking. The Cornerstones program makes it that much easier for our chapters to identify qualified prospective members and lead them on a path toward their own personal development.

Cornerstones provides a unique online experience for our members to track their progress through the program while getting feedback and advice from alumni mentors.
