Kansas State Chapter (Kansas State University)

Name of Event: Community Service at College Ave United Methodist

Date of Event: April 27, 2025

Purpose of Event: The purpose of the event was to help package food for a local food distribution company that gives food to families and individuals in need.

Event Description: Ten active members helped out, the event lasted from 7:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

 

Ohio Chapter (Ohio University)

Name: 5cacia

Purpose of Event: 5cacia: The Mission

The Ohio Chapter of Acacia is proud to announce our 16th Annual 5cacia: A 5K for pancreatic cancer which will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at 1 pm at West State Street Park in Athens, Ohio.

Over the last 16 years, we have collectively raised nearly $400,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation to support Pancreatic Cancer Research in honor of Alumni Brother Justin Baldinger’s Grandmother who passed of the cancer in 2008.

The 5cacia continues to be Ohio University's largest Greek philanthropy. The 5cacia event has been recognized by Ohio University on several occasions.  In 2014 and 2018, 5cacia was recognized by Ohio's Sorority & Fraternity Life Office as the Greek community's most "Outstanding Philanthropic Event". In 2023 the 5k was recognized as the event with the Most philanthropy Dollars Raised.  5cacia is now ran during Ohio University's Mom's Week and is listed on OU's website as an official mom's weekend event. 

5cacia gives the most awards in Athens County for a 5K run.  Categories of winners of the event include mother/son, male and female college student, Acacian Alumnus, walker, and ten other recipients.

Event Description: Over 110 took part in this year's event.

Additional Comments: 5cacia is the longest tenured Philanthropy on the Ohio University campus.

 

Texas Chapter (University of Texas at Austin)

Name: Easter Egg Day Acacia x SAFE Alliance

Date: 4/17/2025

Purpose: Holding an easter egg day for foster children of the SAFE alliance grove place.

Description: 10 brothers participated in the event. The event was four hours long. The event started with the brothers setting up nearly 1600 easter eggs for the big easter egg hunt. Then the brothers set up all the games and stations. These included a mini basketball hoop and cornhole toss with prizes; there were also a snack station, a station for choosing your easter themed basket, and a station for temporary tattoos. There were 50 kids that arrived and the brothers gathered all the kids for story time. After story time, the kids started the easter egg hunt. Once that was done, the kids played at the stations and took pictures with a few brothers wearing easter bunny costumes.

Wisconsin Chapter (University of Wisconsin–Madison)

Name: Lilys Classic Clean up

Date: 2/16/2025

Purpose: The purpose of the event was to clean up following Lily's classic.

Description: During the event, the current pledges were helping clean up the lake following the mess that was created during Lily's Classic a philo event held by SAE which created a large amount of mess across the lake.

Additional Comments: This event was created in order to help clean up the lake following an event which is used to raise money for a charitable cause. The new members while they aren't required go in order to help the community and make the city a better place.
